Welcome from the Board to Beth Dart, our new Executive Director!
On behalf of Music Yukon, I am thrilled to announce Beth Dart as the new Executive Director of the organization. Beth’s journey in the arts took her from Edmonton, where she was a pivotal figure in the city’s cultural landscape, on an adventure north to Whitehorse in 2022, where she joined Music Yukon as the organization’s Administrative Director. We are pleased to continue working with Beth, and excited to welcome her into this leadership role.
As the Administrative Director, Beth was instrumental in driving forward the organization’s mission to support artists’ career development. She led the Music Yukon Training Initiative (MYTI) in spring 2023, which enabled Yukon musicians to receive a variety of coaching in preparation for showcases, and also trained technicians to better support the production of live music in the territory. She produced Arts in the Park for two seasons, attended BreakOut West to support showcasing Yukon musicians, and secured new funding to support the ongoing work of Music Yukon. Beth’s dedication to fostering collaboration and inclusivity has strengthened Music Yukon’s partnerships and expanded the organization’s reach across the territory and on a national scale.
Beth is a seasoned artist and arts administrator with a wealth of experience in the cultural sector. With over 15 years in the industry, she has honed her skills in various capacities, ranging from producing festivals to managing arts organizations. Beth’s expertise in stage management, production management, and directing theatre has equipped her with invaluable skills in communication, organization, and team management. Her dedication to fostering equitable practices within the arts industry aligns perfectly with Music Yukon’s values surrounding supporting artists and ensuring inclusivity. Beth’s extensive network within the Canadian festival circuit and broader arts community will enrich Music Yukon’s activities and bring a fresh, welcome perspective to initiatives and priorities, while understanding the needs of artists, from emerging to established.
With her wealth of experience, vision for the industry, and dedication to community engagement, Beth is already making substantial contributions to Music Yukon as our new Executive Director. Please join me in congratulating Beth on her new role!
