CALL FOR ARTISTS – ICELAND AIRWAVES 2025

Music Yukon has partnered with the Embassy of Canada to Iceland for the second year to send up to three Yukon acts to Iceland Airwaves in Reykjavik, November 6-8, 2025.
We are seeking three export ready Yukon acts, with priority going to eligible Indigenous artists and/or artists under 35 years.

DEADLINE: AUGUST 19, 2025 at MIDNIGHT

This project is made possible by the support of the Government of Canada, FACTOR, and Yukon Media Development and the Government of Yukon.

You are eligible if you:
• Are Indigenous and/or under 35 years old;
• Are a Yukon resident and a Music Yukon member (psst – you can become a member here!);
• Have released original music (single or album), ideally within the last two years;
• Have a history of successful live performances;
• Are export ready including a professional online presence;
• Are dedicated to building your career in the music industry; 
• Have a high-energy 45-minute set of original music; and
• Are available to travel to Reykjavik, Iceland, leaving Whitehorse as early as November 2, 2025, and returning as late as November 11, 2025.

Selected artists will receive:
• One showcase performance at Iceland Airwaves 2025;
• One delegate pass to the conference;
• Flights, accommodation, ground transportation, and per diems for performers;
• Round trip mileage from Yukon communities outside of Whitehorse, if applicable;
• Support in conference strategy and connecting with delegates; and
• Additional support within reason to ensure access to opportunity.

• Link to a recent live performance video;
• Electronic Press Kit (EPK);
• High resolution promotional photo (photo only – no graphic design or text included. NOTE: If selected, this photo will be used in event promotion.);
• Short bio (maximum 200 words);
• Stage plot; and
• A brief description of what you hope to accomplish at Iceland Airwaves, including why you are prepared for this opportunity and your current career goals.

Applications will be assessed by Yukon and Icelandic industry representatives.
