Geared towards artists, producers, composers, managers and others running or planning to run a music business, this session will highlight key considerations regarding copyright, a variety of common music agreements, and a variety of key music business terms and concepts. Regardless of the stage in your music career – from emerging artists to experienced professionals, this session aims to provide key takeaways.

Build, Create & Amplify Your Artistic Brand with Monica from Indie MTL

A series of three free online workshops presented by Indie MTL.
These sessions are designed to build on each other, so attending all three is ideal. However, if you’re only able to attend one or two, that’s perfectly fine! These workshops will be led by a bilingual facilitator (French and English).

Session 1 ☆ BUILD – Saturday, April 5 – 10 AM to 2 PM Yukon Time, Zoom
In this session, we’ll explore the fundamentals of building a strong artistic brand. We’ll cover essential topics such as brand identity, understanding your audience, and setting clear goals. Participants will learn how to audit their current branding efforts and identify opportunities for growth. Additionally, we’ll touch on how AI tools like Chat-GPT can support your promotional strategy. An interactive brand identity exercise will help solidify your vision.

Session ☆ CREATE – Sunday, April 6 – 10 AM to 2 PM Yukon Time, Zoom
Building on the previous session, we’ll dive into content creation and strategy. You’ll learn how to establish content pillars that align with your brand, understand platform algorithms, and apply best practices for maximizing your reach. During the hands-on portion, we’ll create a personalized content calendar using Chat-GPT (optional) to help you plan and execute your strategy effectively.

Session 3  AMPLIFY – Sunday, April 6 – 2 PM to 4 PM Yukon Time, Zoom
In the final session, we’ll focus on paid advertising strategies using Meta. Participants will gain a clear understanding of how Meta ads work, including targeting, budgeting, and campaign management. Through a step-by-step demonstration, we’ll cover the essentials of running successful ads. Using your content pillars from Session 2, you’ll brainstorm and identify effective ad content ideas to promote your projects.

We will explore how to establish an international artist campaign through understanding key strategies and indicators in order to successfully build pathways into new markets. Participants will learn about global opportunity and success indicators, profile development strategies and early market access points as well as how to navigate global music platforms, understanding promotional timelines and build effective release campaigns.
Topics include market research, digital tools and services, profile development strategies, and campaign planning for music export.
Whether you’re an artist, manager, or label, this workshop will equip you with the understanding of how to better prepare to expand your business beyond borders.
