Music Yukon is looking to hire a motivated and professional Sound Technician for Arts in the Park 2020!
Arts in the Park 2020 will be broadcast on CJUC Whitehorse Community Radio with no live audience. AITP 2020 will be a socially distant festival and we are not encouraging public gatherings. The sessions will follow the guidelines as stipulated by the Yukon’s Chief Medical Officer of Health. Due to unpredictable circumstances surrounding COVID-19 and related restrictions, this initiative may be cancelled or modified at any time.

Location: CJUC community radio station at the historic Chamber House at Shipyards Park
20 hours/week
$35/hour
Responsibilities include:
- Technical set-up and strike for daily radio performance at the CJUC Whitehorse Community Radio
- Mixing the sound for daily radio performance at the CJUC Whitehorse Community Radio
- Address technical requests of performers and radio host prior to and during the performances
- Cleaning the sound equipment with Lysol Spray, according to CMOH guidelines, before and after the show
- Treat sound equipment with care and protect it from the elements and any potential damage
- Experience in setting-up sound equipment and running sound boards for live performances
- Strong problem-solving skills and interpersonal skills
- Review technical plots well in advance of each performance to ensure AITP is able to meet Artist technical requirements
Required qualifications:
- Experience setting-up sound equipment and running sound boards for live performances
- Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills
- Good understanding of the music scene and the challenges of a festival
