The Music Yukon Board of Directors is excited to announce the hiring of Scott Maynard to the position of Executive Director.
Scott is a well respected member of the performing arts community and has been a musician and teacher in the Yukon for many years. His music and performing arts career has spanned more than three decades, including a decade as the musical director for Toronto’s Poculi Ludique Societas. He has worked diligently for other theatre companies and arts organizations throughout his career as a performing musician, musical director, conductor, and composer. Scott has toured across Canada, the United States, and Europe with several notable bands including: The Quiet Revolution, Rock Plaza Central and Jennihouse, and has worked with The Problematic Orchestra for a number of years. In addition to Scott’s experience in the music and theatre industries across Canada, Scott has worked in administrative roles with several not-for-profit organizations, including Cabbagetown Community Arts Centre and Karma Food Co-op.
We would like to thank outgoing Executive Director Andrea Stratis for their work in moving the mandate of Music Yukon forward, and wish them all the best in their future endeavours.
With a strategic planning session planned for the next year, and a renewed focus on the organization, we are excited as ever for the future of Music Yukon.
