Introduction to Guitar:
Saturday March 24th- 5:30pm-7pm- $60
Designed for absolute beginners to get started with the basics. Learn how to tune the guitar, how to play 3 easy chords, 2 simple strumming patterns, and how to read chord diagrams.
Reading Music for Guitar:
Saturday April 7th- 5:30pm-7pm- $60
Learn how to read & write guitar tablature, and get some practice reading in a fun group environment. Also learn how to recognize notes in standard musical notation and where to find them on your guitar! (This class is for newcomers to guitar or for intermediate/advanced players who want to become more familiar with reading¬ation methods.)
Introduction to Classical Guitar:
Saturday April 14th- 5:30pm-7pm- $60
For beginner-intermediate players who would like to start practicing with classical guitar technique. Learn about the classical/’Spanish’ guitar parts and traditional postures for playing, as well as 2 important right-hand picking patterns and two famous classical guitar themes/melodies.
Guitar and Music Theory:
Saturday April 21st- 5:30pm-7pm
For intermediate-advanced players who want to ‘fill in the blanks’ of their understanding of music theory on their instrument. We’ll learn about the ‘grid’ of notes on the fretboard, movable chords & scales, and how to easily transpose a song from one key to another.
