The students at Holy Family Elementary School would like to invite the community to their CD Release Celebration on Wednesday, January 31st, from 7 – 8 pm.
“Songs in the Key of Learning” is a collection of songs written by Steve Slade and the students of the individual classes at Holy Family Elementary School.
This project supports the school literacy goal in a fun and innovative way. The collection of songs range from deeply spiritual ones, to academic themes as well as school spirit.
The 8 songs (K-7) on the CD display a great range in musical styles including joyful reggae, gregorian chants, bilingual school team spirit rockers, gospel, and classic country. It closes with a genuine “tear the house down rocker” from the graduating grade 7 class.
The students will be performing their songs ‘unplugged’ and will be available for autographing purchased CD’s after the concert.
The Yukon is home to a wonderful cross section of creative artists. We invite you to come out and support the next generation.
Light refreshments will be available.
Admission is FREE.
CD’s are $10 apiece
All proceeds from the sale of the CD’s go back into the School’s music program.
All music was recorded at Green Needle Studios in Whitehorse, YT with the help of the following stellar musicians: Lonnie Powell, Jon Heaton, Grant Simpson, Jim Holland, Gerry Woolridge and Steve Slade.
