Arts in the Park is now accepting applications for its 23rd season! Arts in the Park puts on daily performances and visual art demonstrations that take place every weekday at the LePage Park for 11 weeks starting Tuesday, May 21st.

Call for performers
Musicians and bands of all genres, storytellers, dancers, children’s performers, poets, theatre and circus artists and any other type of performance artists are encouraged to apply to take part in the 2019 edition of Arts in the Park! We welcome applications from both emerging and established artists.

DATES

  • Arts in the Park 2019 is happening from Tuesday, May 21 to Friday, August 2. Noon shows: 12pm to 1pm, Monday to Friday.
  • Evening shows: 7pm to 8pm on Wednesdays.

The evening shows are geared towards louder performances, emerging bands and youth-based artistic projects.

PAY FOR PERFORMERS, FOR 1 HOUR PERFORMANCE
Solo: $150
Duo: $200
Trio and over: $300

TO APPLY
Send an e-mail including the following information to producer and programmer Geneviève Doyon at artsinthepark@musicyukon.com. Please include your band\artist name in the title of the e-mail and submit by April 5:

  • a brief (<100 word) bio and photo (to be used in promotion/marketing)
  • a brief (one paragraph) description of your performance (NB: Performances are 1 hour with a very short intermission one way),  
  • a sample of your work (video or MP3 ), technical requirements or equipment that Arts in the Park would be required to supply
  • availability between May 21 and August 2, 2019.

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS IS APRIL 5, 4:30pm.  APPLICATIONS MAY BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS DATE BUT WILL BE CONSIDERED ONLY FOR THOSE DATES UNFILLED AFTER APRIL 5.

 

CALL FOR VISUAL ARTISTS
Visual artists of all mediums are welcome to apply to spend a week at the park. During this week, artists create and work in front of the public and showcase their artwork.

Visual artists are encouraged to include elements of interaction with audience members of all ages in their application. Arts in the Park can contribute a small budget for art supplies that are to be used by audience members.

Arts in the Park 2019 is happening from Tuesday, May 21 to Friday, August 2.

Visual artists are hired to work for a week, Monday to Friday, from noon to 1pm, outdoors at Lepage Park, located at the corner of Wood Street and 3rd Avenue.

PAY FOR VISUAL ARTISTS
$500 for the week

  • a brief bio and photo (to be used for promotion purposes)

  • a listing of equipment/supplies that  you will be using, highlighting what AITP would be expected to supply
