The Canadian Songwriter Challenge is a two-day songwriting workshop in Whitehorse co-presented by Music Yukon, Atlin Arts and Music Festival, the Canadian Council of Music Industry Associations and Bell Media.
The workshop will take place Tuesday July 12 and Wednesday July 13, and will be hosted at Splintered Craft (Alexander St. & 4th Avenue). Featuring the facilitation of singer-songwriters Tim O’Brien and Old Man Luedecke, the workshop will aim to develop songwriting skills of all levels, and will give each of its participants the opportunity to write a song, perform it an informal concert space on Tuesday evening, and ultimately professionally record a demo of it on Wednesday.
Registration is $70 ($50 for registered Music Yukon members), and is first-come first-serve. Registration will be limited to 10 participants; you may, however, register as a songwriting duo.
To register, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Please call Music Yukon at 456-8742 if you have questions or would like any additional information.
